Credit Card Application

Select the Right Credit Card Application for You!

While most people have credit cards, many people don't know the advantages and disadvantages to having different types of cards. There are a few simple categories that most credit card applications fall into, cards for individual use and cards for business use.

Cards that are purchased for someone else's use (for example: a parent applying for a card for their child, or an employer providing business expense cards for their employees)

Cards specially designed for those with poor credit histories (these cards can be advantageous, because they only allow you to spend a small amount per month, which still allows you the convenience of a credit card while getting your credit history back where it needs to be)

It's important to be prepared when selecting a card to make sure that you're getting the right one to suit your particular need. For example, you wouldn't want to give your son or daughter a no-limit business card that enabled them to spend up to $500,000 would you? Of course not. By the same token, you shouldn't get a $500 limit student Visa card for your business expenses.

With a relatively short amount of online investigation, you can find the right credit card application to suit your needs. A good place to start your search is at www.ccapplication.com. This site lists thirty or so of the most popular card offerings from Discover, Visa, American Express and MasterCard, individually detailing what each one offers you, their introductory and fixed interest rates and pre-set spending limits. From the information page on each card, you can link to that card's homepage and apply for the card online!

Here are a couple of my favorites:

  1. The Amazon.com Platinum Visa card offers a very low (8.9%) interest rate, no annual fee and you get a $25 Amazon gift certificate just for signing up, plus you receive 1% of your purchases back in the form of Amazon gift certificates. This is a good general card for the average bookworm.

  2. The Advanta Platinum Business Card by MasterCard offers a lot of perks for the small business owner, such as detailed, month-by-month expense reports, 5% cash back on all purchases and free online account management.
